These are probably my favorite brownie recipe EVER (although these Caramel Chocolate Brownies do come a veryyy close second!) I love these particularly because they’re incredibly indulgent yet good for you! Sweet potatoes replace the butter usually added to brownies and the dates replace the heaps of sugar.

We chose to  stick with organic processed foods,  because we knew that they would be safe and that we did not have to worry about the language that we could not understand or hidden additives. Viva Verde was a common organic brand that we found all over Italy luckily and they had a wide selection of products from yoghurt, to biscuits, crackers and cereals.

When we organised our trip we made sure that all the accommodation was booked and transport etc was nearby as well as making sure that our apartment accommodation was near large supermarkets. This was a tedious process at the time, but it really did make a big difference to us being able to relax on the trip.
